Currently, tapani are only available in Muspar'i, Therengia. The Muspar'i instrument merchants are different from those of other cities in that instead of ordering instruments, and customizing them, they are more akin to wandering and festival merchants. All of their instruments are premade to exacting standards, already flashier than standard customizations.
The following styles of tapani are available for purchase:
From Dhralduum's Instruments:
- a finely sanded white ironwood tapani stained with chains of ebony knotwork - 2200 L
- Look Description -- The tapani is a double-sided drum formed of a circle of finely sanded white ironwood stretched across with two pieces of hide. The hide is laced in place with lengths of stiffly braided black and grey cord. Running parallel down the middle of the tapani are three chains of ebony knotwork that have been stained into the pale ironwood, the middle one substantially larger and more intricate than the simpler braids bordering it.
From Latanaara's Musical Wonders:
- a polished ebonwood tapani fitted with silver knotwork filligree - 2200 L
- Look Description -- The tapani is a double-sided drum formed of a circle of ebonwood that has been riveted with knotwork circles woven from silver wire.
