"Uchman esturi acletu sari, we taritu caidis"
One particular neighbour, Jaldrick took it upon himself to take care of the "problem" as some of the citizens viewed Aeltor and his family. On a cold night, 303 years after the Victory of Lanival, Jaldrick and his sons set the small manor farm ablaze. Ysselt herself, was away at the time, having gone to visit a distant cousin who was staying at Taelbert's Inn in Zoluren. She arrived to find the house in smoking ruins, the charred remains of her parents showed they put up some struggle but were overpowered at some point. Rope could still be seen in some places, binding their feet and hands.
Gathering what little repose she had left, she took herself back to Zoluren, swiftly and stealthily. She could gather the reason for her parents death, and she had no desire to be next. With little money in her pocket, and an inheritence that she knew would surely be disputed, Ysselt began to take some odd jobs throughout Crossing, the details of which are not important nor interesting. What finally happened was that she decided to join the bard guild and become an illustrious member. Of course, that was after a rather poor show of trying to be a cleric. Her heart was in the right place, of course, but after listening to Tallis' speech (who was then the guildleader) she realised that was not the path for her. Much searching and wondering led her to the small building on Clanthew Boulevard. Silvyrfrost's speech struck a chord with her and she went on her way to becoming what she considered an amazing bard.
Early on, she met a fellow guildmate, Tarraan Woeh and they clicked instantly, and became engaged quite rapidly after meeting. But it was a long engagement and the marriage was never to be. Ysselt was called away, by the wanderlust that sometimes calls Elvenkind. She did not know if she would be back, yet she entrusted her beloved violin to Tarraan to hold for her. Nearly ten years later she got it back.
